Our Services
Preventative Care
Adult Medicine
Our highly trained providers are able to perform any care management you need for chronic health conditions. Our providers will check bloodwork and answer your questions regarding your overall health. The most common chronic health conditions include high blood pressure, asthma, high cholesterol, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, and various other conditions. We are also able to perform procedures in our office including skin surgeries. All procedures require a consult in which your provider will discuss your history and medical needs.
Geriatrics
Our providers also are trained to diagnose and treat diseases and problems specific to old age. Our providers are all experienced in dealing with illnesses that come with old age, and are able to care for our elderly patients’ unique needs.
Gynecology
Our providers are all able to address the unique needs of women’s health care with regard to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting female reproductive organs. Among other services, our providers can:
- Perform pelvic and breast exams, including PAP smears
- Discuss family planning and prescribe birth control
- Place and remove IUDs
- Perform minor procedures such as colposcopy and endometrial biopsy
Newborns
Our office is happy to provide newborn care. If you are pregnant and considering our office for your newborn care, please feel free to contact us to schedule a meet-and-greet with one of our providers.
After your little one is born, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can schedule a newborn visit within 1-3 days of going home from the hospital. During this initial appointment, your baby will have his/her weight checked, the head circumference and the body length measured. Your provider will perform a general developmental assessment, and will discuss immunizations and any parenting questions you may have. During this visit, our providers can also address breastfeeding questions and issues.

Pediatrics
We are able to care for childhood illnesses and have a great understanding of them. We are able to offer a child a sense of security by seeing the same provider at every visit. This allows us to build trust for, not only your child, but for you as a parent as well. We encourage you to bring your child in for routine well child checks, our complete vaccination program and all of the acute problems that come up in childhood. We are able to continue care throughout your child’s life and have the advantage of having a complete history once your child reaches adulthood. For more information on childhood vaccination schedules, please visit the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/index.html
Acute Care
Ear aches, urinary tract infections, sprains, cold and flu can all be treated within this office. When you are treated by Highlands Family Medicine for your acute problems, we then have your records and the ability to determine if these have become chronic problems that we need to take a closer look at and find a solution for.
Sports Medicine
Here in our office we have Dr. Reece, who has completed a fellowship and is board certified in Sports Medicine. She can help any patient prevent and/or treat illnesses/injuries that may inhibit his or her ability to stay active. This can be for a competitive or recreational athlete, even for those just interested in starting an exercise routine. It is care for the active individual.
